Life Choices Pregnancy Center was set on fire around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, June 25, 2022. After gaining access to our building, we were shocked to see extensive damage to the inside.
As many have reported, the fire is currently under investigation by the authorities.
We are devastated and stunned by this frightening act of vandalism. Life Choices has served Longmont and its surrounding communities for over 37 years. Our dedicated staff – including staff nurses and volunteers – works hard to provide hope, help and support for the women, men and families of our community.
What we hope the perpetrators of this act understand is that an attack on Life Choices is ultimately not an attack on a political party. It is an attack on those who walk through our doors every day in need of diapers, pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, clothing, financial and parenting classes, support, and so much more. It is an attack on a place that is supposed to be safe for those in need.
As one of our clients recently said: “… they helped me in every way, giving great encouragement and support along my path to becoming a mother. Seventeen years later, I am so immensely grateful that I chose to go there and receive help. My son would not be here without their support. … Prayers and an offer to volunteer where needed!”

We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support we have received since this incident. We continue to pray for healing and peace for all. Although this is unsettling, we have an incredible, caring staff and volunteers that are committed to coming back and serving our community and surrounding areas. We have not lost hope because the love of God has been poured out through churches, friends, businesses and people we have never met before.
We hold tightly to the following scripture at this time. “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear.” (Psalms 46:1-2)
With heartfelt appreciation to all our supporters,
Kathy Roberts
